  • Sergey Khachatryan, born in Yerevan, Armenia, won first prize at the 8th International Jean Sibelius Competition in Helsinki in 2000, becoming the youngest winner in the competition's history. In 2005, he received first prize at the Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels.

    The highlight of the 2018/19 season was Khachatryan's residency at BOZAR, Brussels, which included two recitals and a concert with the Orchestre National de Belgique under Hugo Wolff.

    He also performed with the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest under Stanislav Kochanovsky, the Orchestra della Svizzeria Italiana as well as the Gulbenkian Orchestra under Lorenzo Viotti, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra under Ludovic Morlot, and at Teatro alla Scala Milan under Myung-Whun Chung.

    Together with Alisa Weilerstein and Inon Barnatan, he also embarked on a tour of the U.S. and Europe, performing music by Beethoven, Shostakovich and Schoenberg in their program entitled "Transfigured Night."

    Khachatryan's regu
